Bruce Andrew Toews, 57, passed away Monday, October 26, 2020, at Pleasant View Estates in Inman.
He was born April 5, 1963, in Moundridge, the son of Harvey R. and Jane Penner Toews. He was a graduate of Inman High School and received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Bethel College, North Newton.
Bruce was a resident of Neodesha for the last 32 years. He spent his entire teaching career of 30 years as the kindergarten through 6th grade vocal music teacher in the Neodesha school district.
He was a lifetime member of the Inman Mennonite Church. He also attended the Neodesha United Methodist Church, where he played the organ and piano and was involved in their Vacation Bible School program.
He is survived by his mother, Jane, Inman; brother, Mark, Inman; sister, Rhonda (Dave) Toews Moore, Inman; close friend, Susan Gouldie, Chanute; niece, Andrea Vandever-Moore and nephew, Nickolaus Vandever-Moore, both of Inman.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Toews.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m., with family present from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Inman Funeral Home. The graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 4, at North Inman Cemetery with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. at Inman Mennonite Church. It is requested that a mask be worn at the visitation and memorial service. The memorial service will be live streamed on the Inman Funeral Home Facebook page and the Inman Mennonite Church Facebook page. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in Neodesha.
