Ruby Elizabeth Goering

Ruby Elizabeth Stucky Goering, 91, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. She was born on January 20, 1934, in McPherson, the daughter of David R. and Elizabeth Krehbiel Stucky. After graduating from high school, she married Robert M. Goering on August 5, 1952. He passed away on December 8, 2003.

Bob and Ruby farmed together throughout their married life. Besides driving truck and tractor in the early years, her contributions included meal preparation, deliveries to the field, running after parts, and taxiing people. She worked at the McPherson Sale Barn, then Klassen’s Market in Buhler, followed by 30 years in dietary at Pleasant View Home in Inman. During all of this, she also found time to do a lot of babysitting.

Ruby was an active member of Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church, Inman. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, reading, and writing in her journal. Ruby’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy.

Survivors include her two sons, Michael R. (Jana) Goering, McPherson and Greg R. (Pam) Goering, Inman; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; daughter, Sharon K. Mulch; son, Steven R. Goering; great-grandson, Ryker Scott Goering; and siblings, Martin and Marvin Stucky and Ellen (Stucky) Voth.

A visitation will be held from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2025 at Inman Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life service will take place at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church.
