Kelly Lynn Thiessen, 68, passed away September 6, 2023, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born January 31, 1955, in McPherson, the son of Vernon and Helen Knackstedt Thiessen. He attended Plainview School 1st - 6th grade, Coutryside school 7th-8th grade, and was a 1973 graduate of Inman High School. He then graduated from Salina VoTech. A resident of Inman all of his life, he had worked for Hesston Corporation, drove truck for Dillon's Stores and was a self-employed truck driver for ALA Transportation. He was a life long dairy farmer. He was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church, Inman Jayces, and was on the Inman Volunteer Fire Department. He married Gayleen Blackburn on June 6, 1998 in Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include daughters, Sarah (Tim) Gaynor, Newton and Anna Ohle, Inman; sons, Jacob Thiessen, Inman and Jarrod (Ashley) Blackburn, Marshfield, WI; brothers, Loren (Ginger) Thiessen, Inman, Allen Thiessen, McPherson, Wes (Ann) Thiessen, Hutchinson, and Merle (Karen) Thiessen, Inman; sister, Karen (Grady) Cooper, McPherson, and grandchildren, Hailey and T. J. Gaynor, Kayden Ohle, Ella, Max, Piper, and Brigg Thiessen, and Tayson Blackburn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother and father in law, Derald and Charleen Thomas.
Per his wishes, cremation will take place. Family will gather to greet friends from 5-7 PM Friday, September 22, 2023 at Bethel Mennonite Church. Graveside services will take place 10:00 AM Saturday, September 23, 2023 at North Inman Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 11:00 AM at Bethel Mennonite Church.
