Lindsborg

Johnny Ray Long, 67, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at his home in Lindsborg, Kansas. He was born on July 2, 1957, in Pratt, Kansas, the son of Johnny Donald and Dorothy Breeze Long. He was a graduate of Fairfield High School and received his certificate in small engine repair from Pratt Community College.

Over the years, John had worked for Western Auto, Pratt, Sears, and most recently was the groundskeeper and janitor for Inman Mennonite for many years.

John loved being outdoors, gardening and had farmed his family farm several years ago in Turon. He loved to watch his old western movies from John Wayne to Bonanza and enjoyed watching anything silly that would make him laugh, including the 3 Stooges. He enjoyed working on mowers or anything mechanical, enjoyed his time driving bus for the Lindsborg Senior Center, and loved having coffee with friends. His greatest joy was his grandkids, as he was a VERLY proud grandpa.

In March of 1990, he married Shiela Ratzloff (Ensz). They separated in 2019 and later divorced but remained friends.

Survivors include a daughter, Katie (Taylor Brown) Long, Inman; 2 sons, Dwayne (Erica) Ensz, Inman, and Brenton (Crystal) Ensz, Nickerson; step-grandson, Eddie Trammell; grandchildren, Trenton Ensz, Isabella Ensz, Kennedy Ensz, Lindsey Ensz, Hunter Ensz, Drake Ensz, Emberlyn Brown, and soon, Everly Brown; and significant other, Susan Bergstorm, Lindsborg.
