James E. Lafferty

Inman

James E. Lafferty, 81, passed away September 9, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.  He was born September 19, 1940, in Hutchinson, the son of Harold and Opal Harder Lafferty. 
A longtime resident of Inman, he farmed and worked for Certainteed, retiring after 35 years. 
James was a member of Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church, was a huge sports enthusiast, enjoyed reading and baking, and especially loved time with his family and grandkids.

He married Kathleen J. Ediger on March 28, 1964, in Inman.  She passed away on September 21, 2011.

Survivors include a son, Rustin (Michelle) Lafferty, Inman; 3 daughters, Kara Lafferty, Arizona, Dana Lafferty, Overland Park, KS, and Lora (Kenyon) Thornburg, Olathe, KS; 2 grandchildren, Marlee and Maddie Thornburg, Olathe, KS; 2 brothers, Keith Lafferty, Inman and Bob Lafferty, Georgia; and a sister, Viola Cooper, McPherson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Doris Richards and Sharon Lafferty.

Visitation will be held from 4-7PM, with family receiving friends from 5-7PM Tuesday, September 13th, 2022, at Inman Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church, Inman. The funeral will be live streamed on the Inman Funeral Home Facebook Page.  Burial will follow at Zoar Church Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Inman Fire Department, in care of Inman Funeral Home.  To leave a condolence for the family, visit:  www.inmanfh.com.
