Harvey “Harv” L. Goertzen, 84, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the McPherson Hospital, McPherson, KS. He was born on January 11, 1942, in McPherson, KS, the son of Henry L. and Frieda Schroeder Goertzen. Harv was a graduate of Central Christian High School, attended Tabor College for one year, and received an Associate’s Degree from Salt City Business College. He served 2 years of 1-W Service at Denver General Hospital, Denver, CO. He worked as a welder for Farmland Industries and Deluxe Specialties. He married the love of his life, Mary Lou Just, at the Zoar Church in Inman, KS on April 19, 1963, and continued as a member of Zoar throughout his life. Harv is survived by wife Mary Lou, son Doug and wife Tina, Olathe, KS; grandson, Holden Goertzen, Wichita, KS; brother Wes Goertzen, 2 sisters; Jan Hussey and Lois Goertzen; step grandchildren Chris Klingman and Nicole Savage, and great granddaughter, Aurora Klingman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Henry Stanton in infancy and Stanley Goertzen.
Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Monday, June 1, 2026, at Inman Funeral Home. The casket will remain closed. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Zoar Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM at Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church, Inman. The service will be live-streamed on the Zoar Church Facebook page, www.zoarmb.org and their YouTube and Facebook Page. Memorial contributions may be made to Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church or Our Daily Bread Ministries, in care of the funeral home. To leave a condolence for the family, visit: www.inmanfh.com.
