Grover Eugene Thayer, II

Grover Eugene Thayer II, age 41, died on March 7, 2023, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Grover is survived by his mother, Annie Thayer, of McPherson, Kanas; 2 brothers, Tony Mark and Robin Thayer, both of Hutchinson, Kansas; his girlfriend, Shawnta Williams, of Hutchinson, Kansas; nieces, Jessica Gonzalez; and Katlyn Jones, both of Independence, Kansas;  and nephews, Travis Leddy, of Kansas City, Kansas; and Jeffrey Leddy of San Diego, California.

 He was preceded in death by his father, Grover Eugene Thayer of Inman, Kansas and his sister Dawn Leddy Jones of Winfield, Kansas.

Grover was born February 3^rd, 1982, in Hutchinson, the son of Annie and Grover Thayer. He graduated from Inman High School in 2001. Grover was a kind and loving person. He would take the shirt off his back for another person if they needed it. He loved listening to music and going on walks. He was also a KC Chiefs fan and followed them for many years.   Gene was a social, active man who was involved in church for the majority of his life. He was baptized through Grace Restoration Ministry.  He enjoyed hanging out with his girlfriend and his brother Tony. His family and friends will always remember him as a soft hearted and loving man. If Gene had one last word to anyone it would be for that person to take care of themselves.

Cremation has taken place.  Family will greet friends from 5-7 PM Friday, March 31, 2023, at Inman Funeral Home; 312 E. Center, Inman.  A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the North Inman Cemetery, 778 Cheyenne Rd., Inman.  The family invites everyone to come help celebrate Grover’s life.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the family to help defer funeral costs.
