Dennis Wayne Shank, 77, died September 18, 2024, at Heartland Haven, Inman. He was born May 14, 1947, at Grace Hospital in Hutchinson, the son of Kenneth and Ella Irene Stiles Shank. He was a graduate of Buhler High School. Dennis served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a construction worker.

Dennis was an avid stamp collector and loved his John Deere Mower. He lived in Medora most of his life, where he worked At Polk’s Farm Market part-time. He loved Medora because he knew people would watch out for and take care of him. 

Survivors include his siblings, Velma Ediger and Kenneth Dean Shank, both of Buhler and David Shank, Hutchinson; nieces and nephews, John and Dana Eckert, Amy and John Orrison, Jessica and Harold Owens, Justin and Amanda Shank, Michelle and Dima Vakulenko, Melissa and Charlie Hayes, Heidi and Scott Fry, Joshua Ediger, Danielle and David McKenzie, Paige Shank, Matthew Kline, and Samantha Estabrook; and extended family, Christine and Billie Wolf and family, Medora, who have been not only his family, but caretakers for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Vivian Eckert; and a brother, Douglas Shank.

Visitation will be held from 5-7PM Monday, September 23, 2024, at Inman Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Buhler East Cemetery, Buhler. Military honors will follow. To leave a condolence for the family, visit: www.inmanfh.com.
