Delbert Ben Willems

Delbert B. Willems, 85, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023, at his home in Inman surrounded by his family. He was born September 28, 1938, the son of Ben and Mary Vogt Willems.  He graduated from Central Christian High School, Hutchinson.  He then went to Detroit, MI for Volunteer Service from 1957-1958, where he also took evening classes for mechanics.  When he moved back to the Inman area, he was a machinist for Cessna.  He was a member of Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church and enjoyed woodworking and yardwork.

He married LaVonne Ediger on August 22, 1957, in Buhler.  She survives of the home. 

Additional survivors include children, Bonnie Wichert, Buhler; Russ and wife Lori Willems, Inman; Doug Willems, Buhler; Teri and husband Rod Tolle, Inman; and Brad and wife Gina Willems, Wichita; sister Judy and husband Jarold Esau, Kansas City, MO; brother-in-law, Monroe Bartel, Moorehead, MN; sister-in-law, Edna Willems, Centennial, CO; 11 grandchildren, Eric (Megan) Wichert, Brent (Cindy) Wichert, Estey Wichert, Julie (Hadley) Franz, Amy (Ben) Busenitz, Jake (Julie) Willems, Josh (Amy) Tolle, Lindsay (Craig) Fast, Seth (Trisha) Tolle, Chloe Willems, and Shelby Willems; and 30 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Gary Wichert; great-grandson, Levi Franz; brother, Leo Willems; and sister, Doris Bartel. 

A visitation will be held Friday, December 8, 2023, from 5-7 PM at Inman Funeral Home, with the family present.  Graveside services will be held at 9:45 AM Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church Cemetery, Inman.   A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00 AM at Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church, Inman.  Services will be live streamed on the Inman Funeral Home Facebook page.  Memorial contributions may be made to Zoar Mennonite Brethren Church for missions or to Samaritan's Purse, in care of Inman Funeral Home.  To leave a condolence for the family, visit:  www.inmanfh.com.
