Caron Gray

February 22, 1956 — November 28, 2024

Hutchinson

Caron Gray, 68, passed away in her home, surrounded by family, on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024. She was born February 22, 1956, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Thomas John and Mary J. Stathas Reno. She was a graduate of Brookfield Central High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Electronics from Stratton College. On November 24, 1984, she married Steven Jeffrey Gray in Milwaukee, WI. The couple enjoyed starting and raising a family, running two personal businesses, and living the majority of their lives in the Milwaukee area. They just celebrated 40 years of marriage prior to her passing.

Caron was happily retired but had formerly been a realtor, but her favorite career was breeding Maine Coon cats. She was best known for her prolific wildlife photography, which was a passion she discovered over the last 20 years. She especially loved birding photography and traveling to the mountains for some larger wildlife viewing. She was a member of Crossroads Christian Church and appreciated the support they gave to her especially during the tougher times.

She is survived by her husband, Steven, of Hutchinson; her daughter Amy Gray and husband Brandon Wolf, and their daughter Hannah, all of Hutchinson; her daughter Danielle (Gray) and husband Aaron Reiner, and their two boys, Ewan and Xander, all of Sunnyvale, CA; and her sister, Valerie (Reno) and husband Murry Smith, and daughters, Alicia and Amanda, all of Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jim Reno.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Wisconsin for close family and friends to join together and celebrate her life. The family would like to thank Bonnie Nelson, Heather Landers, Angie Logan, Kevin Guffey, the doctors at Froedtert and KU, the Hospice and Home Care of Reno County hospice team, and the Palliative care team at KU, especially Betzy, for all you have done for Caron and the family over the past couple years.

Caron would want to remind you all to “Keep on Birdin”.
