Amy Laynae Archer, 48, passed away October 27, 2021 surrounded by all of her family. She was born July 19, 1973 in Great Bend, the daughter of Greg and Yvonne Zimmerman Sumner. Amy graduated high school in 1993 and worked as a CNA in high school. After high school, Amy was united in marriage to Mark Archer on September 18, 1993 where they then moved to McPherson, KS to start their life together. She enjoyed playing recreational volleyball each week. Amy had a vast social network. She would frequently call to visit her family and friends along with very frequent visits to all the neighbors.
Survivors include her husband Mark, of the home in McPherson; parents, Norcatur, KS; children, Andrew (Significant other, Courtney), Norcatur, KS and Gracie Archer, Ellinwood, KS; a granddaughter, Emery; brother, Todd Sumner, Norcatur, KS; sister, Michelle Homolka, Ellsworth, KS; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; and numerous friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a nephew.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Reno County or Children’s Mercy of Kansas City, both in care of Inman Funeral Home. To leave a message for the family, visit: www.inmanfh.com.
